Can you see why this pool fence is
Not compliant

Yes, that’s correct; our price is just $85 plus the certificate. All you pay for is the government charge for the certificate – that’s our best price guarantee.

Things to do Before You Contact us

No we do not expect you to know all the rules and regulations but if you are not reasonably satisfied it's compliant the odds are we won't be either.

We will issue you with a certificate once your swimming pool is compliant. Your Clear Island Waters Local Pool Inspection team are licensed by the Queensland Government to issue safety certificates – FORM 23 and register your pool as compliant on the Pool Safety Register.

The number of drownings is well documented, but for every one of them there are many immersion incidents that, in a lot of cases, lead to permanent brain damage due to lack of oxygen. I’m not sure which is worse! It only takes a loose lock, hinges that don’t work, a fence that you will get around to fixing one day, a chair next to the fence, etc.

We know in this day and age every body is busy, busy, busy, so we are available 7 days a week. We have no qualms about inspecting on a weekend, as this is possibly the best time to catch some one at home.

It’s well advertised that if you are selling or leasing out your house, you have to have a current certificate. THIS IS NOT ENTIRELY CORRECT. You can sell your house without one, on the condition that the new owners agree at settlement to sign a Form 36 and to obtain a certificate within 90 days. It’s a standard REIQ contract obligation, however doing it this way can lead to extra bartering on price, so it’s your decision which way you go.

New Queensland pool laws introduced in 2009 aim to reduce the incidences of drowning and serious immersion injuries of young children in swimming pools. These laws affect new and existing swimming pools. For example your pool fence needs to be well maintained, your pool fencing needs to be at least 900mm away from objects that would allow a child to climb over, the bottom of your pool fencing needs to be less than 100mm off the ground among other aspects.

Remember these laws are designed for children 5 and under as they don’t think the way adults do. They are very spontaneous and it only takes a few seconds for something nasty to happen. So give the Your Clear Island Waters Local Pool Inspection guy a call. We are punctual, reliable and you can be assured when you get our tick of approval everything is right, and remember nothing takes the place of supervision.

If, god forbid, anything nasty does happen and insurance companies, being insurance companies, find your pool does not comply you might find out that your public liability may be null and void.

So for peace of mind, the sooner you get your certificate, the sooner you can rest easy.

If you need a pool safety certificate, you need to find a licensed pool safety inspector to arrange your inspection.

You will need to have your pool registered, and a safety check completed before your safety certificate will be issued.

Since 2009, all swimming pools must comply with certain safety standards with regard to 5 year old and under.

This became law that year because of the unacceptable levels of drownings among that age group.

Although safety advice and best practice had been available for years, the government acted to make it law.

Combined with supervision, having a pool safety certificate makes children as safe as possible around swimming pools.

If you have a pool on your property, you must satisfy certain conditions before you can sell or rent out. Of course, if you have children, you’ll want to keep them safe at all times too.

What to do Before Your Inspection

Getting A Pool Safety Certificate

A Pool Safety Certificate is also known as a Form 23. This piece of paperwork itself is part of the Building Act 1975, which lays down Queensland property standards.

If you have a private or shared pool, a Form 23 certifies that it complies with these buildings’ standards. In doing so, it details the Pool Safety Inspector Licence Number.

Pool safety inspectors themselves have to be licensed with the Pool Safety Council.

This trains inspectors to the standards required to ensure all safety standards have been met.

After inspecting your pool and finding it safe to use, they will use a Pool Safety Certificate Number.

These numbers themselves have to be purchased in advance by the Council.

There are two reasons why your pool may be exempted from total compliance.

These are a local government disability / impracticality exemption, or an approved alternative solution which is already in force.

Details of these have to be entered onto the form, including whether your pool is shared or non-shared.

High Standards

As you can see, obtaining a Pool Safety Certificate is something to be taken seriously.

To even apply for one, however, your pool needs to be registered. Your pool safety inspector can do this for you as part of their inspection service. Once on the Pool Safety Register, your details can be easily checked.

If you wish to sell or rent out your property, you must have some form of pool safety in place.

If you don’t have a completed Form 23, the obligation passes to your buyer or renter.

They can take over the property without a Form 23 if they sign another form.

This is the Notice of No Pool Safety Certificate or Form 36. This binds the owner or renter to obtain their own Form 23 within 90 days.

Having either a Form 23 or 36 ensures that the issue of pool safety has been taken seriously.

Not only does this help keep children safe, it complies with building regulations.

Absence of any sort of pool safety certificate will delay property transactions.

Pool Safety Certificates The Easy Way

Having an up to date pool safety certificate is a legal requirement whether you have a pool at home or if it is one that is open to the public.

Although the process can seem complicated and expensive, it does not have to be that way.

Here at Your Local Pool Safety Inspections, we have made the process of obtaining your certificate easier and cheaper than ever before.

We can inspect your pool wherever you are in the state due to our team  co-operative of pool inspectors who all work to the same pricing and inspection structure to ensure the very best service to all our customers.

Our Basic Checklist

It is our job to know all the rules and regulations involved in obtaining your pool safety certificate but there are some steps that you can take in order to make the process flow perfectly.

Firstly, your pool must be registered with the Queensland government, if you have not already done this then we can take care of it for you.

Secondly, we have put together a simple checklist that you can double check against your pool and surroundings.

We advise that you complete the list before calling us in to complete your inspection.

This is because if your pool complies with our checklist, the likelihood is that your pool will pass with flying colours.

Your Pool Safety Inspection Certificate

Our inspectors are available to assess your pool and hopefully issue you with your all important certificate so it can be used.

The rules surrounding swimming pools can seem strict, but they are drawn up to protect all who come into contact with them.

One serious injury in a pool due to lack of safety or not having a suitable gate is one too many.

The same applies to immersion incidents which are all likely without the relevant safety measures in place.

We want swimming pools to be enjoyed which is why we do not charge for us to assess yours.

All we charge is a low $85 plus your certificate.

We do not believe that homeowners and local businesses should be held to ransom by inspectors that over charge.

If you can find an inspector in Queensland who, like ourselves, are licenced by the local government to issue pool certificates, who charge lower than ourselves we guarantee to match their price.

We also make a pledge to all our customers that if your pool fails the inspection first time due to the strict laws, the second inspection will be completely free.

Make Your Pool Legal

By working with our inspectors and checklist here at Your Local Pool Safety Inspections, you can ensure that your pool safety certificate is issued to you cheaply and quickly, with the minimum of fuss.

Can you see why this pool fence is
Not compliant

Yes, that’s correct; our price is just $85 plus the certificate. In fact, we are so confident it’s the lowest price that if you happen to find a better price with equal or better conditions, we will do your pool safety inspection for free and we do not charge for a second inspection (provided you have gone through our basic checklist and ticked them all off). All you pay for is the government charge for the certificate – that’s our best price guarantee.

Franchises available Statewide

We do not expect you to know all the rules and regulations but if your pool doesn’t pass the basic test it won’t pass an official inspection. That’s why it’s important to click on our basic checklist link and go through it.

Local Pool Inspections is a co-operative of pool inspectors statewide all using the same systems and same pricing schedule, so no matter where you live we have a local inspector waiting to hear from you.  (Isolated and rural properties may incur a surcharge)

Answer: Latch for gate is too low – it should be 1500mm from the ground.

Things to do Before You Contact us

No we do not expect you to know all the rules and regulations but if you are not reasonably satisfied it's compliant the odds are we won't be either.

We will issue you with a certificate once your swimming pool is compliant. Your Miami Local Pool Inspection team are licensed by the Queensland Government to issue safety certificates – FORM 23 and register your pool as compliant on the Pool Safety Register.

So give the Your Miami Local Pool Inspection guy a call.
